I'm so glad you want to order a copy of Alex. You're the best.

You can have your very own copy to read from the comfort of your home really, really easily.  Issues cost $3.00, the price of a cappuccino (in a small town).  I would never ask you to skip your coffee for Alex.  I’m saying you should order a zine AND a cappuccino and read the zine while sipping your smooth, delightfully foamy espresso drink.  Do you know how to live or what?

A note about paypal: to order a copy, click the "add to cart" button that corresponds with the issue. To order more than one issue in the same order, just click one button, go back to this page, then click another order button. When you go back to the paypal window, both issues will be in your cart. Nifty! Also, you do not need to have a paypal account to order a copy. On the paypal page click "check out" then click "Don't have a paypal account," and the kindhearted, delightful people at paypal will walk you through the steps (figuratively).

A note on trades: I would rather trade zines than have a few dollars ANY DAY OF THE WEEK. Email me about your trade and I'll give you my address: alexgenderzine(at)gmail(dot)com.

THANKS!

Alex, Issue 5

Also a mini zine, issue five is text-heavy (and collage heavy!) and features small essays about: single elderly men on my block, a man and a hunk of turkey in manhattan, overheard conversations at the park slope food coop, tips on battling anxiety, a check-in on quitting drinking, and a story about punching a homophobic kid.

Issue 4

Alex, Issue 4

This is my first ever "mini zine" but actually I think it contains more text than Issue 3! I had a really hard time making my thoughts small. Stories include: bike accident & gender ambiguity, memories of BAM, more not-drinking stories (wild times), about hurricane Irene, on being peaceful (wilder times), a nerdy meta-zine story, and two overheard conversations.

$3 - three dollars

Issue 1

Alex, Issue 3

In this issue I get into family stories, including my brother having a baby, why I quit drinking, optimism, and a coming out story (as a person who likes people). I got crafty with this one, typing most of it on an old-school typewriter. Typos! Japanese paper! The works.

$3 - three dollars

Issue 2

Alex, Issue 2

In this issue I covered the topic, "all about you, all about your bra." I wrote an essay about sports bras, and then the rest of the zine is filled with survey answers from about twelve different women who all tell stories about their relationships with their bras.

$3 - three dollars

Issue 3

Alex, Issue 1

In my first issue I wrote about the following: thoughts on flipping gender presentation, a trip to the gynocologist, a visit to the gender identity project, and dildos, while my friends wrote about assumed gender roles in marriage, femme identity and drag king shows, coming out with a mormon mom, and figuring out feminism.
